EXHIBITION OF THE CANON DWYER COLLECTION
Saturday 17th and Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th August, 9:30 – 17:30 (FREE).
An exhibition of letters between Canon Philip Dwyer
(Prebend of Dysert and Vicar of Drumcliffe from 1864-1883)
and his son William Dwyer in Canada dating between 1880-1919.
The collection gives a vivid portrait of family life of the period,
the sadness of families split by emigration,
the changing role of women and the effects on a family of certain historical events.
