NATIONAL HERITAGE WEEK event:
TURRET LODGE, KILRUSH - Challenges
On Wednesday 21 August, at the earlier than usual time of 7 p.m., there will be a lecture entitled "Turret Lodge, Kilrush - Challenges", by David Humphries, director of Architectural Conservation Professionals, followed by an interactive discussion on the sustainable/economic reuse of derelict historic buildings, specifically Turret Lodge, Kilrush.
David will speak on a case study of the Aran Sweater, Market Quay St., Galway project with reference to the lessons learnt that can be applied to the restoration of the Turret Lodge, Kilrush - a project which is jointly funded by the Heritage Council under the Historic Towns Initiative 2019 and Clare County Council. Other interested parties in attendance will participate in the discussion.
This National Heritage Week event is an integral part of the Historic Towns Initiative funding for restoration of the building.
You may have noticed that work has finally begun on the Turret Lodge project in the last couple of weeks.
