The O'Gorman Mahon
James Patrick Mahon. Born in Ennis,  Co. Clare,17th March 1802 he was educated at Trinity College, Dublin 
and became known as 'The O'Gorman Mahon'. He led an extravagant lifestyle travelling the world, 
and there are many unverified stories of his exploits abroad. He was involved in numerous military operations around the world. 
He was reputed to have attained the rank of General and Admiral in separate South America countries.
This lecture by Declan Barron tells of the evidence found for his travels in this part of the world.
