KDHS LECTURE: THE PLACENAMES OF WEST CLARE Tues 28 May 2019

      Teach Ceoil, Kilrush, Co. Clare
Risteard (Dick) UaCroinin, Architectural Conservation Officer and County Archaeologist will talk on the Placenames of West Clare with reference to the origins, translations, value and recording of our townlands and fieldnames over the past millennium.

Dick has also served as chairman of the Clare Placenames Committee for the past decade.

There are over 51,000 townlands in the Republic of Ireland and each one is named.

KDHS lectures are free to members, EUR5 for non-members, payable on the night only. New members are welcome. The annual membership fee (July-June) is EUR20. For new members joining now, their first year's membership will run to June 2020.
