Mick O'Rourke will tell the story of a number of shipwrecks along the coast of west Clare. He is the creator of the excellent database: www.irishshipwrecks.com

Mick O'Rourke is a maritime researcher specializing in shipwrecks and Irish shipbuilding history. He is an ex-member of the Irish Naval Service and an active scuba diver with Ennis Sub Aqua Club and the Clare Search And Recovery dive team.

KDHS lectures are free to members, EUR5 for non-members, payable on the night only. New members are welcome. The annual membership fee (July-June) is EUR20.

Kilrush Local History Group was founded at Kilrush Community School in 2009 by teacher Laura Hogan and students Siobhan Behan, Leah Brew, Mark Glynn, Niamh Mulqueen, Ruth O’Dea, Kerry Prendeville, Ciara Purcell and Laura Ryan. The group aims to raise awareness of the history of Kilrush in both the school itself and of course the wider community.
