The Annual General Meeting
of
Kilrush and District Historical Society
will be held in the Teach Ceoil, Grace Street, Kilrush,
on this coming Tuesday 26 June at 7:30pm.
It will be followed at 8pm by a presentation
by
Eric O'Neill
on
"Blacksmiths and vernacular ironwork traditions of West Clare".
The event will incorporate a tour of some
of the best examples of vernacular ironwork
in Kilrush Churchyard
and elsewhere in the town.
Eric O'Neill is a Limerick-based blacksmith, artist and teacher.
He has been involved for many years
in promoting and teaching the craft of the blacksmith
and runs his own forge
known as Killuragh Kraftworks.
