CLARE ROOTS CHATTER PLUS... MARCH, 2018

CLARE ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL SOCIETY
'The Workhouses of County Clare' - a talk by Steve Dolan
The workhouse system, as organised in Ireland, proved ill-equipped to deal with the demands put upon it. This lecture will focus on those demands for the eight workhouses in County Clare, the differing challenges faced, and the workhouses ultimate fall from use.
The lecture takes place on Tuesday 13th March, in the Old Ground Hotel, Ennis, at 8.00 pm. Lectures are free to members, €5 for non-members.
NOTE: The AGM takes place at 7.00 pm in advance of the lecture. Hope you can join us - new committee members are much needed and would be very welcome.
